Rajmahal Palace RAAS, Jaipur

Services

What do Jackie Kennedy, Lord Mountbatten, Princess Diana, and Queen Elizabeth have in common, and perhaps you soon will? They’ve all walked through the grand arches of Jaipur’s royal residence – The Rajmahal Palace. Built in 1729, and home of Maharaja Sawai Man ‘Jai’ Singh and Maharani Gayatri Devi for many years, this residence turned palace hotel features 13 rooms and suites, each with its distinctive art-deco style.

Here, history lingers in sweeping stretches of lush gardens, in royal secrets murmured beneath the song of flowing fountains, in an art-deco pool that tempts you to linger all afternoon, in the palatial spa, in walls lined with photographs of the royal family, in gleaming polo trophies, a cherry-red 1950s Ford Thunderbird, and heirlooms treasured for generations, each corner quietly telling its tale.

Discover the ever-vibrant city of Jaipur, where every turn reveals a palace, a market, or a burst of colour. Then return to Rajmahal Palace, where the bustle fades and the royal treatment begins.

Design

If Gatsby were to throw a soiree in India, it would have to be at the Rajmahal Palace RAAS, Jaipur. A rose-pink exterior, manicured lawns, vintage chandeliers, Mughal carpets, antique furniture and a grand entrance – it is every bit the stage for a 19th-century royal retreat.

It’s Delhi-based interior designer, Adil Ahmed, who restored the once worn-out residence to its current glory. With 13 grand suites, including two royal apartments, each with its own distinct character, and royal artefacts styled as though they were simply part of the room’s everyday charm, calling it “luxurious” would be an understatement. Though they vary in size and grandeur, even the so-called ‘simplest’ room is unapologetically elegant.

Experiences

Jaipur is the perfectly suited capital city. Every corner is rich in history, landmarks linger with stories of days present and past, culture seeps through gem shops, hole-in-the-wall eateries, and heritage is woven in vibrant textiles.

Take a walk through the city’s bylanes, and you’re instantly immersed in the spirit of Rajasthan. While staying at Rajmahal Palace RAAS, the hotel offers a range of curated experiences for you to get the most out of the city. A trip to the iconic Hawa Mahal, a day at the city palace and Amer Fort, shopping in the hidden gems and some homegrown labels – the life outside the palace is equally tempting.

Food & Drinks

51 shades of Pink, The Colondale, The Bar, and The Polo Lounge are the four dining establishments within the property. An ode to Jaipur’s burst of pink, 51 shades of pink offers a mix of Indian and International cuisine.

The Colondale opens in the lush garden and hence becomes the perfect spot for breakfast and high tea. Expect comfort food made from freshly sourced ingredients. The Polo Bar is where you can indulge in craft cocktails while chatting up with the bartender over stories of the family. A former library housing the family’s memorabilia, polo trophies, accolades and more is ideal for a quiet sit-down afternoon.
