The Johri

Services

Tucked away in Jaipur’s iconic Johri (jewellers’) bazaar, the once called Lal Haveli is now a beautifully restored boutique hotel that took over nine years to reinvent the charm of an archaic era. Hyper-personalisation at your service–expect a private butler, curated dinner menus personalised to your culinary preferences, and little surprises throughout your stay.

From the five spacious suites each named after a fine gem, and custom-designed embroidered headboards, antique furniture, and rich installations of Rajasthani art, the overall blend of contemporary aesthetics with local tastes is remarkable. Spaces like the traditional centrepiece courtyard and Pukhraj Lounge give The Johri added elements of boutique comfort.

Architecture

Merging Rajput, neoclassical, and Mughal styles, the Johri also adds limestone and terracotta to establish an earthy atmosphere.

Lattice windows and cane work in every room, brass accessories with bone inlay, and the mindful usage of soothing symmetries—all come together to offer an authentic Rajasthani experience.

This boutique hotel’s layout spells tranquillity in capital letters. While the suites and antechambers showcase a wholesome sense of minimalism without compromising on elegance, the intention to install items depicting Jaipur’s street culture is another noteworthy move.

Both the Pukhraj lounge, which serves as a high-chai service and intimate cocktail bar, and the farm-fresh vegetarian restaurant at the base of Johri are decorated with hand-painted murals of Rajasthan’s flora and fauna.

Note that The Johri’s theme is centered around the mansion of a globally travelled jeweller; one who has invited you to his haveli in Jaipur. The very walk through a lean, buzzy lane within the Johri bazaar underscores India’s essence to its core.

Interior Design

Gracefully peeping into the serene and light-coloured inner courtyard, each of the five suites is created with the design intellect of trio founders and local artisans.

How each suite dances in its unique personality is primarily decided by the 5-colour palette of gems that adorned Rajasthan’s kings and queens.

The Manak (ruby) suite houses a tender shade of dusty pink, representing Jaipur’s alternative name of Pink City. Additions like traditional cane light fixtures and candy-themed furnishings present an ageless yet playful aura. Second is the Sona (gold) suite overseeing the culturally active markets. Bonding with the colour yellow, its luxurious build is further complemented by eye-catching arches and ornate cornices.

Moving on, the Panna (emerald) suite comes with a double-humped headboard and bespoke interiors that maximize its spaciousness.
The rooftop suite, Moti (pearl), privileges visitors with a personal veranda space to peer into the scenic sights of the Old City. Even better, it’s a penthouse decked with a living room and dressing room.

Up next, the Neelam (sapphire) suite is inked with mild blue walls to pay respect to the Blue City of Rajasthan. You’ll fall for the tiger-shaped handmade seating and the delightful range of red, white, black, and white colours.

Food & Drinks

Right from salads and soups like Johri shaved salad and saffron pumpkin Shorba to small and large plates like sangri ki shammi and kathal ki nihari—the meals at Johri’s restaurant are an experiential offering.

Eat your meals at the central courtyard and swiftly shift your choice from teas to wines as the evening sets in.

Seasonal dishes brimming with Rajasthani flavours and global culinary innovation, and vintage handcrafted and summer cocktails flowing at the Johri & Sons Indian spirited bar; you’ll be tasting flavours as distinct as red ruby sharbat, ajwain, chamomile tea honey, pomegranate-grapefruit, and more.

Do spend some time exploring the Chaat menu as well. The baby palak & pan patta chaat is prepared with betel leaves and a radiant blend of crisps, split chickpea, and yoghurt—a dish you can’t miss.

Similarly, wrap your 3 or 5-course meals with an exquisite jackfruit water chestnut tarkari biryani. A recipe with such rarity is what makes Johri’s culinary creations stand out across Rajasthan.
